Que: What is Priming?















Ans:  Priming is the process of filling water in centrifugal pump suction strainer to casing upto the delivery valve or priming point. It will remove the air from the suction side of the pump. In centrifugal pump the liquid pumped is directly propotional to the density of the working fluid. If air is present its density is less than water so water will not suck to the pump suction.
